Today, January 4, Charlotte Schaff began leading a four-week study about Mary Queen of Scots.  This began as an interesting history lesson about Scotland and should continue be of interest to our class for the next three weeks.

Future classes will include the following:

February 1-15 – Mary Ann Shaw will lead our class in a study entitled “So What’s Up with the Prophet and the Whale?” from the Book of Jonah.

February 22 – Brandy McNeil

March 1 – Mary Ann Whited

March 8-29 – Archer Frierson

Specials About our Members and Other Events

We understand that Lee Morgan has now gone to New Jersey to visit family.

Annette Knight will be moving to her new townhouse at Tealwood this week.  When she begins living there I will send out the address and phone number.

It was good to see Cathy and Dave Weaver in class today after some weeks away.  They have been on some extended travels.

Several others of our class members with personal or family health issues need your prayers.

Paul Brown has found that a temporary spinal cord stimulator has helped his back pain, and he is now waiting for a permanent one to be inserted.  He feels that there is now some “light at the end of the tunnel” for his back pain.

Bill Giddens was back in the hospital for one night over New Years for a blood transfusion.  While he was not up to being in our class today, he was able to attend church.

When the Seekers Class was organized we wanted this class to provide fellowship, lasting relationships, care for each other, and communication, as well as having meaningful studies each week in our class.  This purpose is being fulfilled for the most part, and we can do this more fully by providing appropriate information that can be communicated in this weekly E-News.  Please let me know about anything of special interest that has happened to you or any of our class members that can be passed along via this E-News.  Our class members would really like to know your news.

Seekers Class Vision

The following vision was adopted several years ago when the Seekers Class was first organized:

“An environment for the encouragement of spiritual growth, nurturing, mission, fellowship, community, and leadership.”

Other Opportunities

“Meals on Wheels” needs help and donations.  You may contact Caddo Council on Aging for assisting them.

Remember if you make a pledge to Red River Radio (KDAQ Public Radio) of an amount of at least $120 per year, you can charge it on your credit card monthly or quarterly; and First Presbyterian can get some air time advertising our church activities.  Please contact Jean Mendenhall if you have contributed this year to Public Radio or if you do contribute in the future, and she will contact KDAQ to schedule the Day Sponsorship ad for the church.
