Specials About our Members
This Sunday our attendance was
somewhat higher than it had been for the last two weeks, but we missed those of
you who were not there. We heard that
Ann Dodson had a car accident, but we did not have much detail and hope she is
OK.
I will repeat what Debbie Brown said
last week about how Paul is doing. She
said he has much less back pain now but is very weak and tires very quickly
when he gets out. He will need to build his
muscles back because of not using them much for some time. Please give Paul a call and check on him or
go by to see him, as well as keeping him in your prayers.
We understand that Lee Morgan
continues to be doing better. Lee can
have visitors now and would appreciate a visit, but you might want to call
first at 1-318-730-7408 (use the area code since his cell phone requires
this). Please keep Lee in your prayers,
and check on him. His home address is
3469 Bayou Crossing,
We still need some news about other
class members. Please provide some
information that can be shared with our class.
Who else do we need to check on?
When the Seekers Class was organized we wanted this class to provide fellowship, lasting relationships, care for each other, and communication, as well as having meaningful studies each week in our class. This purpose is being fulfilled for the most part, and we can do this more fully by providing appropriate information that can be communicated in this weekly E-News. Please let me know about anything of special interest that has happened to you or any of our class members that can be passed along via this E-News. Our class members would really like to know your news.
Seekers
Class Vision
The following vision was adopted
several years ago when the Seekers Class was first organized:
“An environment for the encouragement of spiritual growth, nurturing, mission, fellowship, community, and leadership.”
Other
Opportunities
Notice the various educational opportunities
in the Church Bulletin and the Link regarding “The University of First
Presbyterian”.
The “DeGray
Family Retreat” is November 13-15.
See the Church Web Site that is being
updated. There is some recently-added
information about the Capital Campaign.
“Meals on Wheels” needs help and
donations. You may contact Caddo Council
on Aging for assisting them.
Remember if you make
a pledge to Red River Radio (KDAQ Public Radio) of an amount of at
least $120 per year, you can charge it on your credit card monthly
or quarterly; and First Presbyterian can get some air time advertising our
church activities. Please contact Jean Mendenhall if you have contributed
this year to Public Radio or if you do contribute in the future, and she will
contact KDAQ to schedule the Day Sponsorship ad for the church. She announced that Public Radio needs your
help and said to contact her for a special program of Day Sponsorships for our Taize Services.
